Knott End on Sea is a place that is cut off by the River Wyre from the Fylde Coast.
Since April 2016 the local council withdrew a number of bus services which served the local residents access to nearby towns of Cleveleys (6 – 8 miles distance) and Fleetwood (half a mile across the river or approx 11 – 12 miles by road).
The only bus service from Knott End run by Blackpool transport runs between the village and Blackpool town centre Monday to Saturday with the last bus leaving Blackpool to return to the village by 9pm. So, it’s impossible to have a night out and a drink without either taking the car (and not drinking) or paying around £30 one way in a taxi.
Unfortunately, we’re not all pensioners who live here and sadly, those pensioners who no longer drive / have no access to a car are all marooned on what might as well be a desert island (without sun).
The other bus goes to Lancaster but again, is another early finish service. It used to run between Cleveleys and Fleetwood too!
Given that there are some new and fairly large new residential estates being built on this side of the river, it’s time Blackpool council re-looked at the services they provide to the public. We still pay our council tax the same as everyone else but our services are rapidly being decreased.
We have a fire station but the nearest ambulances are over the river, which takes around 15 minutes driving time from the traffic lights at Mains Lane but the ambulance must come from Fleetwood or Blackpool before it gets to Mains Lane.

So, these are things you must consider before coming to live in Knott End on Sea.
However, we do have 3 or 4 places to eat at in walking distance and 3 local pubs/bars in the same vicinity. Oh, and a very expensive Golf Club!
