Lincoln: The Cathedral and Holiday Inn city

Living in Lincoln, Lincolnshire

When I first saw Lincoln I was in awe at the sight of one of the most pretty cathedrals in Britain. However that was all but gone when I entered a city where the greatest monuments not on a big posh hill was a holiday inn, some office blocks (very sparse) and the holy Morrison’s.

All the surrounding building where bleak grey things where a second floor was an architectural masterpiece. The holiday inn (where I stayed) had probably some of the best society and food) there was, the pot noodles of Morrison’s compared to local restaurants and pubs looked very appealing despite being floating bits of dough in hot water.

The people, most in the surrounding area wore the uniform of a crappy tracksuit and hoodie, also being dumb and illiterate seems to be a local custom, many people being unable to create the word “hello” with their malfunctioning mouths. And the more affluent outside the old city are fools, the only thing thats going to happen to a Mercedes AMG there is criminal damage, and they seem to be arses themselves.

How grim is your Postcode?

However it is worth a visit due to a wonderful Cathedral with a good organ, beautiful medieval woodwork and an okay castle and old city and rather nice old people in the cathedral.
