Coney Weston is a small, lovely village, located in the middle of the East Anglian countryside. Around 40 minutes each to Norwich, Ipswich and Cambridge, 20 minutes north of Bury St Edmunds, just over an hour to the M25 and a similar time to the M1/M6 junction – so, we’re in the middle of nowhere, but with easy access to everywhere!!! The railway network is 10 minutes away to Thetford & 20 minutes to Diss (mainline to Liverpool Street). Airports too – an hour each to Stansted or Norwich.
The village itself is a quiet hamlet and is listed on the county plan as ‘countryside’ – which means that it is unlikely ever to get much bigger than its current size. To quote a prominent local character ‘Coney Weston’s charm is as much about the open spaces between houses as about the houses themselves’.
If you have children, there are two good First schools in the catchment and school buses to the Upper at Thurston. For shopping, Bury, Thetford and Diss are easily accessible with a variety of supermarkets and common high street vendors.
It really is a wonderful place to live.
